The Alpha Course
Our autumn course begins on Thursday, 4th October, 7.00pm to 9.30pm. It will run for 10 weeks.
We are holding a pre-course supper on Friday, 28th September in the Gala Theatre. This is an excellent, no-commitment opportunity to come and find out more about the Alpha programme.

What is Alpha?
The Alpha Course consists of a series of talks addressing key issues relating to the Christian faith. Each evening there is a light meal together at the beginning of the session which gives people a chance to get to know each other. This is followed by a videoed talk. After each talk we divide into small groups to discuss the topic of the evening, ask questions and express opinions.
Alpha is a place to listen, learn, discuss and discover . It is a place to ask anything. Alpha is a place where no question is too simple or too hostile . Alpha is cringe-free, relaxed, informal and fun!

Who is it for?
Alpha is specially designed for those who are curious about Christianity but have little or no contact with the church.
What does it cost?
The course is free, although participants are invited to contribute towards the cost of the food.
"The first evening surprised me completely. The people were
from all walks of life, from different races, classes and abilities. During
the first evening, there were no prayers or heavy preaching. We were just
given the opportunity to listen to the talk and then discuss anything
we wanted. I chose to ask some challenging and confrontational questions,
but they were welcomed, and I was made to feel valued and appreciated.
