Worship and

Student Worker

St Nics is an evangelical, Church of England church in the heart of the City of Durham. We gather as a diverse community of 300 regular Sunday attenders across three services, and of all ages. Our vision is to see lives transformed: for many people encounter Jesus, learn from him, and work with him.

We are looking for an individual who is passionate about Jesus, pursuing his presence through worship, and who will be fully committed to the vision and values of St Nics.

An able singer and musician, with a good knowledge of contemporary worship, they will be capable of inspiring and equipping students and young adults.

Main responsibilities will include supporting the Lead Worship Pastor (LWP) in regularly leading sung worship at our 630 service, special services, prayer, and worship gatherings as well as at our weekly student night.

Living in Durham

We think Durham is a fantastic place to live and work.

Durham is a small, vibrant, university city with ancient streets, many bridges over the winding River Wear and a magnificent Norman cathedral. It has a rich cultural heritage and excellent modern amenities such as gyms, cinemas, shops, restaurants, and theatre venue. Durham also has some of the best primary and secondary schools in the North East.

We benefit from being a 15 minute train ride away from the centre of Newcastle with all the advantages that a large city can offer. (London is three hours by train.) If you prefer countryside or beaches, we are within easy reach of both, and both Northumberland, and the Lake District are nearby.

We hope you will enjoy England's beautiful North East, whether you are just visiting, or making your home here.
