Living in Durham
We think Durham is a fantastic place to live and work.
Durham is a small, vibrant, university city with ancient streets, many bridges over the winding River Wear and a magnificent Norman cathedral. It has a rich cultural heritage and excellent modern amenities such as gyms, cinemas, shops, restaurants, and theatre venue. Durham also has some of the best primary and secondary schools in the North East.
We benefit from being a 15 minute train ride away from the centre of Newcastle with all the advantages that a large city can offer. (London is three hours by train.) If you prefer countryside or beaches, we are within easy reach of both, and both Northumberland, and the Lake District are nearby.
We hope you will enjoy England's beautiful North East, whether you are just visiting, or making your home here.
