What we believe

St Nicholas is an evangelical Anglican church which holds to the classic marks of that tradition – the authority and trustworthiness of the Bible, the gospel of Christ crucified, the need for a personal conversion, the duty and joy of witness, evangelism and mission.

However, we want to affirm an orthodoxy that is both generous and nourishing and which will create a space in which 'thinking is allowed' and genuine differences can be explored in a gracious spirit.  This has sometimes been expressed in shorthand as 'clear at the centre and fuzzy at the edges'.

As a result we enjoy a 'climate' or 'culture' where a wide range of people can find a church home.
